The Holistic Way provides Lifestyle Plans that support any changes that a client wants to make. They take into account all the relevant aspects of a person's life and don't judge anyone for the choices they make. The plan uses the Prochaska and DiClemente model of change to look at an individual's health needs holistically and in consultation with the client puts together a realistic lifestyle plan that can enable the person to make healthier informed lifestyle choices and achieve greater wellbeing of body, mind & soul.
 
By using the plan you will be able to:
  • Understand the process of change and identify where you are in your own change process.
  • Discover what your barriers to changes are and begin to find solutions to these barriers.
  • Set your SMART goals.
  • Explore your levels of motivation.
  • Recognise your behavioural triggers and take action to avoid them.
  • Use your Inner Coach to motivate and help you achieve your goal.
  • Manage a relapse.
 
Lifestyle Consultation
During the consultation we will look at the six stages of change. These are, Not Thinking of Change, Thinking of Change, Planning, Action, Maintenance and Relapse. It is important that someone is aware of the process they will experience.
 
Then we will move into the 'Thinking of Change Stage' and discuss what lifestyle changes you want to make, to enable you to improve your health and wellbeing. By identifying and accepting the things you would like to change, you are able to do something positive about them. We will also look at the advantages and disadvantages to change, what would help or prevent you from changing and look at what your life would be like if you were successful before moving onto the important 'Planning Stage'.
 
We will use the SMART Principles to write up goals that are, Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Timely. You will then have your motivation measured to ensure you are confident in your ability to make your chosen changes your lifestyle. We will use a reinforcement theory to improve your motivation if this is a barrier to change.
 
We will then look at behavioural triggers and put together an action plan of  you will eliminate them or avoid them to achieve your goals. You will then learn how to use your 'inner coach' to help you achieve your goals. Before we talk about how to manage a relapse if it happens.
 
You will then be ready to move into the 'Action Stage' of your Lifestyle Plan and will be a given a copy of your plan to take away with you, so you can put your chosen changes into action. You can update your plan and make notes of how your lifestyle changes are going. You can email The Holistic Way if you need any additional support.
 
Clients can also choose an appropriate therapy to support their wellbeing needs during any of the stages of lifestyle change.
 
Costs
The Lifestyle Planning Service is £30 an hour. This fee includes a consultation, a hard colour copy of your Lifestyle Plan, any relevant health information you need and access to email support. This is payable on the day in cash or by cheque. 
 
In addition therapies used to support your life changes will be provided at the reduced rate of £25.00 per hour.
 
Holistic Wellbeing Plan
Fees include your FREE personal Wellbeing Plan if you decide to have additional therapies to support your life changes. The plan will be based on the information given during your initial consultation and our professional knowledge.
